The European Professional Card - EPC is an electronic procedure you can use to have your professional qualification recognised in another EU country.

This electronic procedure is new if compared to traditional recognition procedures: you can keep track of your application online and you do not need to upload the same documents again if you want to apply in another EU country.

From 18th January 2016 it is possible to apply for the EPC for the following professions:

  • nurse
  • physiotherapist
  • pharmacist

All documentation must be provided with a translation into Italian; the translation can be simple or certified (produced by a third translator accredited by an EU Member State).

Useful information and details about the EPC (European Professional Card)’s application procedure are available on the website of the Italian Department for European Policies  at the relevant EPC page
