Covid-19 weekly monitoring, report of November 23 - 29

The control room/Cabina di Regia for the period November 23 - 29 highlights the following main aspects:

  • Although the pressure on health services is still very high, there is an overall improvement in the epidemic on the national territory, with a reduction in transmission speed, a reduction in the incidence calculated over the last 14 days and a decrease in hospitalizations in the medical and intensive care areas. The national outlook is diversified in regional and sub-regional frameworks.
  • The incidence is still too high to allow sustainable management, therefore it is necessary to reach levels of transmissibility significantly lower than 1 throughout the national territory, allowing a further significant decrease in the number of new cases of infection reported and, consequently, a reduction in the pressure on territorial and hospital health services.
  • Most Regions/PAs are classified at moderate risk of uncontrolled/manageable transmission of SARSCoV-2 but the high incidence and current strong impact on hospital services requires caution with continuous monitoring and the need to maintain a high level of vigilance in behaviour.
