Covid-19, situation report update at 17 April 2020 18.00

At Civil Protection Department Headquarters, the Operational Committee keeps working to ensure the coordination of all operations by the components and operational structures of the National Civil Protection Service.

As per health monitoring activities related to the spread of Coronavirus across national territory:

• 106.962 people have tested positive
• 42.727 patients have recovered
• 22.745 died however, this number can be confirmed only upon certification of cause of death by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.

To date, the total number of assessed cases in Italy is 172.434

In detail: there are currently 33.434 positive cases in Lombardy, 13.585 in Piedmont, 13.998 in Emilia-Romagna, 10.618 in Veneto, 6.583 in Tuscany, 4.214 nel Lazio, 3.459 in Liguria, 3.157 in the Marche, 3.027 in Campania, 2.656 in Puglia, 2.139 in Sicily, 1.990 in the autonomous Province of Trento, 1.942 in Abruzzo,  1.582 in the autonomous Province of Bolzano, 1.428 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 872 in Sardinia, 819 in Calabria, 494 in Umbria, 491 in the Aosta Valley, 266 in Basilicata and 208 in Molise.
