Covid-19, situation report update at 24 May 2020 18.00

At Civil Protection Department Headquarters, the Operational Committee keeps working to ensure the coordination of all operations by the components and operational structures of the National Civil Protection Service.

As per health monitoring activities related to the spread of Coronavirus across national territory:

• 56.594 people have tested positive
• 140.479 patients have recovered
• 32.785 died however, this number can be confirmed only upon certification of cause of death by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.

To date, the total number of assessed cases in Italy is 229.858

In detail, the number of infected people amounts to 25.614 in Lombardy, 7.703 in Piedmont, 4.457 in Emilia-Romagna, 2.660 in Veneto, 1.700 in Tuscany, 1.624 in Liguria, 3.569 in Lazio, 1.692 in the Marche, 1.268 in Campania, 1.793 in Puglia, 535 in the autonomous province of Trento, 1.453 in Sicily, 412 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 1.092 in Abruzzo, 195 in the autonomous province of Bolzano, 53 in Umbria, 245 in Sardinia, 32 in the Aosta Valley, 275 in Calabria, 183 in Molise and 39 in Basilicata.
